Billing Specialist

Location: Remote

Schedule: Follows North American business hours

About the Role: The Billing Specialist manages the end-to-end billing cycle, ensuring that invoices are generated accurately, delivered on time, and aligned with contractual terms. This role serves as a key liaison between finance, sales, and customer success teams to resolve billing inquiries and maintain customer account integrity.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Generate and issue accurate customer invoices in accordance with contractual billing schedules and terms.
• Review contracts, purchase orders, and service agreements to confirm billing accuracy.
• Process billing adjustments, credits, and rebills as required.
• Investigate and resolve billing disputes and customer inquiries in a timely manner.
• Maintain up-to-date billing records and customer account data in the ERP system.
• Coordinate with internal teams such as sales, legal, and customer success to resolve contract discrepancies affecting billing.
• Support month-end close processes including billing reconciliation and revenue recognition data.
• Generate billing reports and provide analysis on billed vs. collected revenue.
• Ensure compliance with billing policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable.
• Experience with ERP or billing systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce Billing, SAP, or Oracle.
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with international stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting SaaS or technology company AR operations.
• Familiarity with revenue recognition standards such as ASC 606.
